Background Process¶
Background Process for Copying or Moving Objects in Glacier¶
In this application, objects stored in the GLACIER storage classes are handled via a background process during copy or move actions. The following steps outline how this process works:
Initiate Restore Process
When an object stored in the GLACIER storage class needs to be copied or moved, the system first initiates a restore request.
This restore process retrieves the object from the non-accessible tier and prepares it for the copy or move action.
Perform Copy or Move Action
Once the restore process is complete and the object is accessible, the system automatically proceeds to either copy or move the object as specified by the user.
This process ensures that no attempt is made to move or copy objects while they remain in a non-accessible storage class.
Check Job Status
Users can check the status of these background tasks (copy, or move) by navigating to the Profile section in the Dashboard.
To view job status: - Go to Profile in the top right corner. - In the side panel, click on Job-status. - This will display the current status of initiated objects, including their progress through the restore and copy/move process.
