Groups

Group management allows administrators to organize users into groups and manage permissions at a group level. Follow the steps below for managing groups:

How to Create a Group

  1. Navigate to the Groups section.

  2. Click the Add button to create a new group.

  3. Click the Create button.

  4. Enter the group name and description.

  5. Click on the add user button.

  6. Select users to add to the group.(“Users displayed here are sourced from AWS SSO.”)

  7. Click Create to finalize the group creation.

How to import a Group

  1. Navigate to the Groups section.

  2. Click the Add button to create a new group.

  3. Click the import button.

  4. Select the group which need to import.(“Groups displayed here are sourced from AWS SSO.”)

  5. Click import to finalize the group.

How to Sync an External Group

Note

The Sync feature ensures that the application remains aligned with any changes made to AWS SSO groups. (Only for External group source).

To sync an external group with AWS SSO:

  1. Select the external group you want to sync.

  2. Click on the Sync option.

  3. The application will sync with AWS SSO, importing any new users or updates made through AWS.

How to View Permissions of a Group

To view the permissions of a group, follow these steps:

  1. Select the group whose permissions you want to view.

  2. Click on the More Icon (⋮).

  3. Click on the Permissions option.

  4. The permissions popup will open.

  5. Click OK to close the popup.

How to Delete a Group

To delete a group, follow these steps:

  1. Select the group you want to delete.

  2. Click on the More Icon (⋮).

  3. Click on the Delete option.

  4. A confirmation popup will appear.

  5. If you click Yes, the group will be deleted.

  6. If you click No, the deletion will be canceled.

Note

For external users, the following options will be in a disabled state: - Rename - Assign User - Remove User

How to Rename an Internal Group

To rename an internal group, follow these steps:

  1. Select the internal group you want to rename.

  2. Click on the More Icon (⋮).

  3. Click on the Rename option.

  4. Enter the new group name.

  5. Click on Rename to save the changes.

  6. A message will appear stating “Renamed successfully.”

  7. If you do not want to rename, click on Cancel to exit without making changes.

How to Assign a User to an Internal Group

To assign a user to an internal group, follow these steps:

  1. Select the internal group you want to assign a user to.

  2. Click on the More Icon (⋮).

  3. Click on the Assign User option.

  4. Select the user you want to assign from the list.

  5. Click on Assign to finalize the assignment.

  6. A message will appear stating “Assigned successfully.”

  7. If you do not want to proceed with the assignment, click on Cancel to exit without making changes.

How to Unassign Users from an Internal Group

To unassign a user from an internal group, follow these steps:

  1. Select the internal group you want to unassign a user from.

  2. Click on the More Icon (⋮).

  3. Click on the Remove User option.

  4. Select the user you want to unassign from the list.

  5. Click on Unassign to finalize the removal.

  6. A message will appear stating “Unassigned successfully.”

  7. If you do not want to proceed with the unassignment, click on Cancel to exit without making changes.
